The SHRM (the Society for Human Resource Management) awarded a 2021-2022 Outstanding Student Chapter Award designation to the 56³Ô¹ÏÍø SHRM Student Chapter for providing superior growth and development opportunities to its student members.

56³Ô¹ÏÍø received a gift of nearly $300,000 from the estate of Shelby J. Pera, a 1962 alumna of the Chicago College of Performing Arts — formerly the Chicago Musical College.

The U.S. Department of Education recently announced that $52 million was allocated to nearly 200 high education institutions through the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Program. The Office of the Provost is delighted to publicize that 56³Ô¹ÏÍø (RU) was among those schools, receiving another five years of funding to support RU students.

An anonymous $1 million contribution will expand 56³Ô¹ÏÍø’s women’s leadership initiatives — developing additional career-oriented opportunities for women-identifying students and community members.

56³Ô¹ÏÍø is taking the first steps in applying for National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II membership, announcing it has been approved for provisional membership by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), an active NCAA Division II league.

The 37-year-old Brown, a McDonald's All-American and Illinois Mr. Basketball at Proviso East High School and one of the most accomplished and popular athletes in University of Illinois history, brings two decades of collegiate and professional basketball playing and coaching experience after most recently serving as an assistant men's basketball coach for the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) since 2017.

At the end of the residency match process, 56³Ô¹ÏÍø notched a record 92% PGY1 match rate. Eleven pharmacy graduates will start their first-year postgraduate residencies in 2022.

Age is just a number, if you look at what recent 56³Ô¹ÏÍø graduates have already accomplished. Meet 23 56³Ô¹ÏÍø alumni are taking the lead in Chicago and the country.

56³Ô¹ÏÍø finance honors students upgraded their resumes and all became certified Financial Modeling and Valuation Analysts (FMVA). On top of their bachelor’s degrees, the certificate will prove their skills and help attract recruiters.

Professors, students and friends filled the candlelit Fainman Lounge to celebrate the life of Professor Carol Brown. The interactive Perfect Love memorial honored Dr. Brown’s warm, compassionate spirit and her most closely held causes.
